2nd Tuesday Bag Ladies Group with Louise and Mary 2026 - Guest -Somerset Bag
Join us the second Tuesday evening of August and September to make the Somerset bag. You can register for one session, or register for both.
For the Somerset bag, a pattern purchase is required and instructions for variations will be provided. The bag can be made in a large or small size.
Project Description
Create your own fabulously roomy and spacious tote bag, with a fabulous Japanese-inspired drawstring closure. This pattern comes in two sizes. Small size works great as an everyday tote bag, large size makes a perfect shopping bag. We think these would make the ideal project bags too. Yarn crafters love the drawstring top for allowing yarn to unwind neatly while knitting or crocheting.

SMALL – 11'' tall x 11'' wide on bottom x 6'' deep
LARGE – 13'' tall x 13'' wide on bottom x 7'' deep
Guests or individuals may join for one session and pay $15 for the class. If you want to join the second session, please register separately for that as well. Guests do not get the 20% class discount - that is reserved for Club members only!

| Skill Details: | Basic level of machine piecing and machine applique helpful. Instructor will provide assistance if you have not done this before. |
| Requirements: | Project patterns and supplies will be needed for class. Supply lists will be available before each session. Sewing machine and basic sewing supplies are needed. Materials needed to make one small bag (let us know if you'd like the materials list for the large bag): FABRIC A (main exterior) – 1/2 yard FABRIC B (drawstring closure) – 1/4 yard FABRIC C (lining) – 3/4 yard fusible fleece (I use Pellon 987F) - 1/2 yard two (2) - 24'' long strips of 1'' wide WEBBING for handles* two (2) – 40'' long COTTON CORD or RIBBON |
