Judy and Brad Niemeyer designed the layout, instructions and foundation papers for the Diamond Wedding Star in 2017. The cover quilt was made from a collection of fabrics designed by Judy and Judel Niemeyer with Timeless Treasures. Two sewing techniques referred to as foundation paper piecing and foundation strip piecing are used to assemble the units required to make this quilt. Traditional piecing techniques are used to join the units after the foundation piecing is completed.
An important addition to Judy's Diamond Wedding Ring patterns is the Creative Grids Diamond Wedding Star Template, purchased separately. You can see it below in the suggested products section. This is a must to make your life easier when you are making this pattern!
We have exclusive Always Quilting Diamond Wedding Star Poinsettia kits featuring Poinsettia applique and/or machine embroidery. Three color ways are available - Red, Pink, and Shiny Objects. Unfortunately we don't have a picture of the pink with the actual applique on it, but it will look the same as the red one and will use all of the pink and green fabrics featured in the piecing portion. The background fabrics for the red are a light cream, and the background fabrics for the pink are a light gray. The fabrics for both kits were custom designed by Always Quilting to make sure that the gradations across the 8 ring fabrics were perfect!
The Diamond Wedding Star Poinsettia requires the Supplemental Applique Pattern; this pattern includes all of the laser cut Stitch and Peel pieces that you will need to do the applique using Judy's applique technique, as well as applique placement directions. If you'd like to stitch your applique down by machine embroidery, we also have the machine embroidery CD designed by Vanessa Fromm of Fabric Confetti, and we have matching thread kits featuring Hemingworth thread for the machine embroidery for each kit. These threads will match your fabrics perfectly!
