Lite Steam-A-Seam 2 Fusible Web from The Warm Company. Pressure sensitive on both sides for a temporary hold to both the applique and background materials; pieces stay in place and are repositionable until fused with an iron. Once fused the bond is permanent and machine washable and dryable. Lite is made especially for sheer & light weight fabrics. Quickly create hems, seams and applique. Easily apply lace, trim and ribbon. By the yard in 12", 18" and 24" widths.
Directions for use:
- Pre-wash fabric to remove sizing and other chemicals which may prevent the fabric from sticking to the web if applicable. Use with or without steam. Set iron temperature according to the type of fabric you are using.
- Trace applique design in reverse on paper liner and remove the second liner. Check to see which liner removes first by peeling apart at the corner. Trace on the liner still attached to the web. Skip this step if you are not tracing a pattern.
- Stick Lite Steam-A-Seam 2 to the wrong side of the applique material.
- Cut Lite Steam-A-Seam 2 and material together along the traced lines.
- Peel off remaining paper liner, leaving the web on the fabric, and stick applique to second material. Reposition as desired.
- Press 10-15 seconds for cotton fabric; adjust temperature and fusing time to fabric. Repeat, overlapping pressed areas.
Care instructions: Once fused, Lite Steam-A-Seam 2 is washable and dry-cleanable. Machine wash and dry at low heat or dry clean. Unfinished edges won't lift or fray. If you choose to finish the edges you can sew through the pressed applique without gumming up your needle or finish the edges with paint. We do not recommend drying with a dryer sheet.
